Vic: Telstra workers to start industrial action from the weekend

Telstra workers are continuing to refuse to do overtime today as part of their industrial
action in support of a collective agreement.

The Communications Electrical Plumbing Union says the ban on overtime and call-outs
won't finish until midnight tonight.

The action follows a secret ballot of nearly four and a half thousand Telstra employees
who voted for industrial action against Telstra because of the company's refusal to negotiate
a collective agreement.

CEPU telecommunications state secretary LEN COOPER says emergency services that may
experience difficulties .. including hospitals and triple zero services .. will still
be repaired.
